PROJECT TIMELINE
(See detailed schedule below.)
The project begins with an initial Orientation Session for all participants in November 2007; continues one Sunday a month from December through March when we will go out as a group to shoot pictures along Pico Boulevard; and wraps up with a Closing Session in April 2008. The eighteen student photographers will be divided into mixed teams representing different neighborhoods, with each team of six led by one of the artists. Participants will use point-and-shoot digital cameras; if a participant does not have access to their own camera, one will be provided to them.

After each shooting day and again at the end of the project, participants and their team leaders will gather for a collaborative editing session where we will discuss the results of our efforts, and choose, caption, and sequence the images to be featured in our final presentation.

The project will culminate in a public presentation of the work in the form of a "digital mural"—a series of photographic projections—in venues that may include a community block party, a celebration accompanied by music and food; and/or a large auditorium in a museum, school, or community center.
