1999 installation at Los Angeles Center for Photographic Studies 10 drawings, graphite on vellum, 27 x 18 inches, from the Trace Series, 1997 - ongoing The drawings from this series are tracings from various types of printed matter. In them I isolate, combine and recontextualize fragments of newspapers, magazines, brochures, post cards and junk mail. They take two forms: straight reproductions (with significant omissions) from newspapers and news magazines, and textual collages whose juxtapositions derive from multiple and unrelated sources.
